2 days in Oporto

Portugal

It was seven in the morning when I left for Porto, starting from Leiria, to finally get to know the city most beloved by the Portuguese. After my two-day visit, Porto might have become my preferred Portuguese city as well

I made the whole trip on the National Highway so as to enjoy more of the scenery, and to some extent because it was affordable. After about three hours of travel from Leiria, I finally arrived at my destination.

My first stop was, predictably, the tourist office. I started out touring the city near the tourist office, where I got to know a very classic but certainly charming city. I ended up spending my morning without doing much sightseeing, instead taking photos and filming the movement and facades of the city. I had a quick lunch and then went to the Hotel Pedra Ibérica to check-in and get ready to start visiting more seriously.

Early in the afternoon, I started by visiting the Ribeirinha area. Located here is the famous Dom Luís Bridge, a fantastic work of architecture and where some young people sometimes place bets to see who is brave enough to jump off it. I continued alongside the river to visit the famous Livraria Lello, a library famous for the staircase which inspired J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter.

Afterwards I had dinner at Casa das Francesinhas, where I ate the typical dish of the city, although I have had better examples of Francesinha in other restaurants.

After dinner, it was time to return to my room at the Hotel Pedra Ibérica to relax and get ready for another day of getting to know the city; by the way, I really enjoyed the Hotel.

The next day I started in a beautiful antique shop where I saw many beautiful things that still stand out in my memory. I ended up visiting several city gardens and beautiful monuments, using Google maps as a reference to guide me through the city.

While I could not visit all the points of interest because two days is simply not enough time to do it all, however, it was enough time for the beauty of the city to captivate me. This is demonstrated in the video I posted, which really shows the beauty of the city.

Next time I'll stay longer and have more to share!.
