Loboke National Park - Madagascar
This magnificent reserve is located in the southern part of the island of Nosy-Be, situated on the northern coasts of Madagascar. The island is known to the world as the island of the Lemurs or even as the island of the ylang-ylang that emanate a divine scent that characterizes this green land.
The Loboke National Park, which takes its name from the homonymous volcano (455 m), has been closed for decades with the motivation to preserve its flora and fauna from the invasion of mass tourism. Today this is home to 42 different species of birds, 50 reptiles, 14 types of amphibians and 3 different species of lemurs (black lemur, Hawk's lemur and the nocturnal Claire's mouse lemur).
On a botanical level, the park is of some interest as it is possible to admire the Dypsis Ampasindavae, which today can only be admired within the reserve.
This pristine place also offers 3 different hiking trails of varying difficulty and the option of being able to book pirogue tours.
Last but not least in this place it is possible to visit a distillery dating back to the 19th century that is still used today for the extraction of the essence of ylang-ylang with which one of the most famous perfumes in the world belonging to the Chanel brand is produced.
