The 1770 House

East Hampton's Beloved Treasure

The 1770 House Upstairs Dining Room

The 1770 House, located on Main Street in East Hampton, with easy walking distance into the center of the village, is a charming fine dining establishment that is considered to be the real deal when it comes to an exceptionally crafted menu and wine list.

At the helm of the kitchen is Executive Chef Michael Rozzi, and the Wine Director is Michael Cohen, who will both take great care of you during your evening. Expect to spend at least two to two and a half hours at The 1770 House, great food takes time to make and enjoy.

There are two parts to The 1770 House: the sophisticated upstairs dining room or the Tavern downstairs with its own bar and televisions. The Tavern is very cozy and you could usually grab seat walking in during the weekdays. Always expect to make a reservation during the summer months. One particular famous dish at the Tavern is their Meatloaf that sits on top of potato puree, spinach, and topped with roasted garlic sauce, a comfort food favorite. It is also one of Ina Garten’s “all-time favorite” comfort foods.

For dessert, available both upstairs and downstairs, it is hard to resist their Sticky Date Cake served with vanilla gelato and gooey toffee sauce.

The menu rotates seasonally, with select, classic favorites available all year long.
