The Incredible Tokyo Skytree
Japan
The Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria at the top of the Tokyo Skytree boast 360-degree views overlooking the biggest city in the world! Standing tall at 634 meters above the ground, this is hands down one of the best attractions in Tokyo that you must see during your city trip.
HOW TO GET TO TOKYO SKYTREE
The Tokyo Sky Tree is located in Sumida and can be very easily reached with the Tokyo Metro.
Ride the metro to Oshiage Station (SKYTREE) and follow the signs to the Tokyo Skytree. It should take you no more than 5-10 minutes to reach the ticketing counters at the base of the Skytree.
SKYTREE TICKETS
The Skytree Tower is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Tokyo and so I recommend booking online in advance to secure a ticket.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The BEST view of Tokyo City is what you can ultimately expect at the Skytree observation deck! Top to bottom glass windows lines the outer edges of the Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria offering panoramic views of the concrete jungle that Tokyo City is!
My brother Chris and I walked right the way around the Tembo Deck, peering through the glass windows to see every perspective of the city that we possibly could! We were in complete awe of what laid before our eyes. Some would say chaos, others would say a work of art.
There are large interactive maps that visitors can use which allows you to zoom in on buildings, temples and other interesting landmarks dotted around Tokyo City. On a clear day, you can even see Mt Fuji off in the distance!
There’s a number of souvenir shops, photography exhibitions and the Skytree Restaurant on the Tembo Deck which is a great spot to grab a beer and something to eat while marveling at the craziness of Tokyo.
I recommend visiting Tokyo Skytree at around 4 pm in the afternoon to catch a sunset and then witness the city start illuminating as night falls.
