All Roads Lead to Rome
The Eternal City certainly lives up to its name. it is the perfect blend of history, culture and modernity. There is so much to see and experience, like the spectacular Colosseum and the beautiful Trevi Fountain!
I also visited the Vatican, which was amazing and overwhelming at the same time. However, if you visit Rome, the Vatican is a must. I recommend booking and going before you leave for your trip, so you can avoid waiting on line. Try and go earlier in the day too if possible.
Those may sound cheesy, but don't shy away from the hop on/hop off buses that travel around the city. I actually highly recommend them! It allowed me to see Rome and if you have the option to use headphones and learn a little history. It was where i first saw the majestic Colosseum. I knew it would be amazing to see, but actually seeing it up close is a sight you shouldn't miss! Also, what can be better than eating delicious gelato gazing at a piece of history? Remember, calories don't count when you are in Italy!!!
