Rome by Night
A private viewing of Rome
We landed in Rome jet-lagged and exhausted after a crazy adventure in the United States. We'd planned just a few days in Italy to try and recover and adjust to the time difference before heading back home to normal life. However, in the end we just made use of the jet-lag rather than actually recovering from it!
It gave us a way to have private viewings of some of the world’s most famous landmarks. The trick is to start the tour at about 3am and end it at the first sign of other tourists arriving, which was about 8-9am. That gave us six hours to explore the quiet streets and empty monuments that you usually can’t even get close to.
It gave us a beautifully unique view of Rome. No crowds, queues, or selfie sticks. Just a few special moments exploring 3,000 years of globally influential art, architecture and culture.
This is Rome by night...
