Col Tichka
Over the clouds..
Col Tichka is a mountain pass in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, connecting South East Marrakech with the famous city of Ouarzazate. This mountain pass is situated at an altitude of 2260m.
Tichka literally means “difficult path”. Fittingly, it is really difficult to get into this place. You must pass 30 km of bad roads - and all of this 30 km was a challenge because of the heavy rain of the night before. Despite the twists and turns of the road, the landscape was outstanding.
When we arrived at the top of the mountains, the wind blew wild and the air was really cold! It felt fantastic compared to the 35 degrees (95 degrees Fahrenheit) in Marrakech. They say "Summer or winter, here never gets hot." so be prepared with some warm clothes, especially since the temperatures can drop to around 12 degrees (56 degrees Fahrenheit).
A view that is worth 2 hours on the bus!
