Escaping to Arizona's White Mountains
The perfect escape any time of year
Arizona’s White Mountains is the perfect escape anytime of year. In the summer you can find relief from the heat in the Phoenix Valley and spend lazy summer days kayaking at Woodland Lake Park.
Show Low Lake is also a great swimming hole. You can find the secret rope swing on the south side of the lake.
If you like fishing, Hawley lake is the perfect place to catch a trout and soak in the spectacular views.
If you prefer hiking, the South Fork Trail in Greer is our favorite trail. The forest trail follows alongside a stream dotted with wildflowers.
Fall is also a great time to visit and experience the change of leaves.
Los Burro’s Campground is a great place to find fall colors. Pack a lunch and enjoy a day outdoors!
In the winter, the mountains turn into a snow covered wonderland. Sunrise Park is a popular ski resort to visit. You can also find a fun sledding hill a few miles before the resort on the right side of the road.
There are plenty of delicious local restaurants to eat at. Our favorite cafe is White Mountain Donut and Cafe.
The build-your-own-donut is always a hit and I would highly recommend the Crispy Pig for lunch!
No matter the season, there is always beauty and fun to be had in Arizona’s White Mountains!
