A Day in London
A day of exploration to start your adventure.
We wanted to stay somewhere close to the city but also close to parks and restaurants. There is also a railway station close by that takes you directly to the London Victoria station. Right before you go through the gates you will find a machine where you can purchase tickets. I purchased an electronic ticket called an Oyster card and I can physically use throughout the day without having to buy multiple individual tickets.
One of the best parts of traveling is looking for places to eat some authentic local food. We stumbled upon a local gem called the English Rose. It has a nice welcoming vibe and just the perfect place to start our morning. If you are looking for a cozy and relaxing morning atmosphere then look no further.
One of the best things about walking around London is the beauty of all the buildings and architecture. The moment you get off London Victoria Station. The Imperial War Museum on Lambeth Rd is about a 40 minute walk or a 25 min bus ride. After checking out the museum you can keep going north and head to the London Bridge.
Borough Market is definitely something you have to check out. You can pass by the market on your way to London Bridge. It is one of the oldest markets in London and it has some amazing food that you can indulge in.
After a long day of exploring the best way to take everything in is to check out some local pubs. I enjoyed asking around to see where people like to drink and eat after the work day. Overall this was just a taste of what London has to offer, there is so much more to explore.
