San Miguel de Allende
A beautiful place in Guanajuato, México.
San Miguel de Allende is a city from the colonial era in Mexico; It was a city dedicated to mining, and you can still see in its streets the vestiges of that time full of gold and silver, full of wealth. If you want to get to know a bit of history, to walk on stone streets, to eat real traditional Mexican food, and where it seems that time runs more slowly, this is a trip you should make. The parish of San Miguel Arcangel began its construction in 1709 after the original church collapsed years before. It is Baroque style, and its color is due to the pink quarry.
In the surroundings of the square you will find stone buildings, which are now restaurants, craft shops, museums, and you must walk in those streets to feel the atmosphere that this town has to offer us. You can get to buy sweet bread and hot chocolate, or maybe an exotic-flavored ice cream, buy a hand-made cloth doll, jewelry, etc., and finally sit on the benches to enjoy the afternoon.
The streets of the center are still made of stone, and one can walk calmly in them since in San Miguel de Allende there is no rush and one can enjoy the calm that there is in the environment. It is worth stopping to contemplate all the arquetectura details that houses and buildings in the area have. Where you turn, find something special to photograph, something to enjoy.
Enjoy your trip, there are many haute cuisine restaurants and bars where to go for a drink at night.
