Vernazza - Cinque Terre series pt. 5

The fifth and final day

Sun over the town of Vernazza

As we had completed our hike we descended and arrived in Vernazza, the last village of the five (Portofino isn’t actually a Cinque Terre village). A friend of ours who had visited the bunch of villages before us had said that we should pass through a cave, in the middle of the town, in order to get to some kind of hidden beach.

This seemed pretty odd, but it was for real! When walking through the town center there's suddenly this hole within the stone which leads you to an astonishingly beautiful beach! It wasn't to crowded at the time, and of all the places to snorkel in that region of the country, it was the best, in my honest opinion!

As we only stayed for a limited amount of time in the Italian region we unfortunately weren’t able to visit the last of the five villages though, Corniglia. We had planned not to visit this village as we made a selection of the ones which seemed to interest us the most, on our tight schedule. I’m sure though this village too would be a great one. And if we would’ve had a bit more time we most definitely would’ve visited. I guess that will be for another time!

This is the end of the Cinque Terre series, I sincerely hope you enjoyed reading. Have a wonderful day! :)
