Chocolate Afternoon Tea

Inside the May Fair Kitchen at the May Fair Hotel, you’ll find the Charbonnel et Walker Signature Afternoon Tea, a chocolate themed tea inspired by the famous London chocolatiers. I took my sister to this afternoon tea when she visited London, and we both loved it! The restaurant is sleek and beautiful, and the service was amazing. Because the tea is influenced by the Charbonnel et Walker chocolate makers, there is chocolate flavors throughout the tea. You can start with finger sandwiches (which were delicious) before moving to the scones. Each person gets 2 scones- one chocolate scone and one lemon scone, and they’re served with vanilla mascarpone cream and orange preserve. For dessert, there’s tiramisu, chocolate orange cake, and donuts with a chocolate dipping sauce! Of course, because this is a chocolate themed tea, you’re also served some delicious truffles alongside the dessert!

This afternoon tea is available every day from 2:30 to 4:30, and I recommend booking ahead of time! It costs 35 GBP per person, and 45 GBP per person with a glass of champagne. Even though it’s a little pricey, I think it is so worth it, and you’ll definitely leave feeling full! I like to go to afternoon tea early to have it as my lunch since it is so much food!
