My First Snow

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

For a long time I'd been listening to beautiful stories about Prague, the parties, the city, the local people, the food, but what I was more interested in was the weather

Last year I was planning my Eurotrip that I was going to take in December. As a Latin American you always wonder what it would be like to experience a snowy day, so having a white vacation was definitely on my travel list and after searching online I decided to visit Prague and pray for snow!

I arrived at night at The Madhouse Hostel, which turned out to be one of the smartest decisions during my trip because I met a lot of friendly people. Its also in an excellent location in the city and very close to the old town where the astronomic clock, the Opera house building head of Franz Kafka is. All within a ten-minute walk.

The next day I woke up early to find it was snowing! So an Australian guy, who I met in the hostel, and I went sightseeing in the city as neither of us had seen snow before in our lives. After a long day of walking, we stopped to eat in a meat restaurant called Naše Maso which the staff allows you to pick the piece of meat you want to eat and you can order hamburgers or steaks at a very fair price and it's delicious. The place is located in Dlouhá 727/39, 110 00 Staré Město.

I guarantee this experience in Prague was breathtaking because of all the touristic sites and the streets of this beautiful city covered in white. The temperature wasn't as cold as I expected, and I was pleasantly surprised by the price. In Prague they use a different currency from Euros so for me as a Mexican I found it to be much cheaper versus other parts of Europe.

A place worth the visit..
