Skakavac Vodopad- A 100m High Waterfall
Highlander adventures
Reaching the waterfall was our last stop trip. It is located nearby Sarajevo.
Its highness is more than 100 mt and its mole of water is impressive.
We brought a Canadian couple with us; they were so nice and modest.
In 2002, Skakavac waterfall with its surroundings is declared by Sarajevo Canton as monument of nature.
We immediately went into confidence even if I don’t remember their names anymore.
We went for a hike and it took two hours before we stopped in a cozy restaurant that I highly recommend to all those who take the same route.
After bingeing “pitta” and “suppa” we left to continue our walk, descending down for two more hours before getting to our destination.
In order to reach waterfall with car (4x4 car is recommended), it can be done directly from Sarajevo, through Nahorevo to Nature Preserve Skakavac. Cars are prohibited after the stop ramp and it is best to hike down to the waterfall.
It is recommended to reach the Skakavac Waterfall by foot, hiking through trail that lead under waterfall. Down the trail you will see many places with tables and benches ideal for picnics.
