Cafes You Cannot Miss In Taipei
Taipei, Taiwan
I have been living in Taipei for over one year, and I guess you can say I experienced many cafes in this city. I put together a compilation of some of my favorite cafes for you. If you are looking to get work down, cafe hopping to create content for your IG feed or enjoy cake and coffee then there is a cafe for you!
If you are looking to take an Instagram picture (I see you!) Drunk cafe is Instagram worthy. From the fluffy feathers, beads hanging from the windows, whimsical pillows, and outdoor patio, this place is for you to come and indulge, or sit there and take 100+ pictures. I came here and ordered the red velvet latte. It was so tasty and not too sweet. Before you mix, it creates the pictures boomerang for your IG stories.
2J Cafe is the perfect place if you are looking for an outdoor patio with urban boho decor. The terrace is excellent if you want to get a quick fix and go off your way. Nearby is Da’an Park. Get your coffee fix here and head over to the park for a pleasant stroll in the afternoon.
Heritage Bakery and Cafe is the place to fulfill your sweet tooth. Heritage has the best cinnamon roll in town. They also have honey lattes made with two types of honey produced in Taiwan. They sprinkle edible flowers on the honey latte too. This bakery also has an awesome carrot cake and chocolate mousse cake.
Fika Fika Cafe is another excellent choice, especially if you are looking to chill, or complete not such important work. I say this because it seemed a bit loud in here; however, it is near the MRT (Orange line) and an excellent place to meet and talk with people too!
If you are into unknown and speakeasy type establishments then Congrats Cafe is for you. The entrance is on the side of the building in a small alley. To get into the cafe, you have to walk up the stairs. There is an outdoor patio that overlooks one of the main roads in Taipei. It is rather small, however many people come here to work or meet up with a friend.
I am calling all book lovers! Another right place to come is Elsewhere Cafe. It is cosey and sells decent sized meals. There is one meal for vegetarians that comes with eggs, salad, vegetables and other small sides and drinks that are in season. It also has a small patio too! The walls are covered in books along with journals and must-have pens to go along with your journaling.
Costumice Cafe is the best of both worlds. It has an outdoor patio for sunny and warm weather, and inside there is a fireplace in the back corner for the more relaxed and rainy days.
Chamber Cafe is by far my favorite out of Taipei. It is expensive, though. I paid over 200 NTD for coffee, which is a lot for Taiwan, but you get the jazzy and intimate vibes. I ordered the black swan, which has a hint of chocolate. How could I pass this up?
Any of these cafes here are great and had excellent service in all of them. In Taiwan, cash is king, so always bring cash.
