Exploring Ytri Tunga Beach Iceland
A day out hanging with the Seals at Ytri Tunga
We started off our Icelandic adventures at the Ytri Tunga beach, although not being one of the main destinations in Iceland we decided to give it a go due to the abundance of seals they have one the beach. If you are a photographer who loves taking photographs of wildlife this is a beach you definitely need to check out. It is located on the northwestern side of Iceland near the black church in budir and Kirkjufell. The great thing about this because is the raw nature and the fact there is hardly any people there. The beach itself is beautiful and was an incredible introduction to Iceland. Seeing the seals in their natural habitat was so heart warming. If you put Ytri Tunga beach straight into Google maps or Waze it’ll take you right to the car park. As you get to the beach walk down the beach on your left and soon you should see seals hanging out on the rocks and swimming about. I spent around 3 hours photographing and just admiring them in their natural habitat. If you are a nature lover this is definitely a top spot in Iceland.
